* Yesterday we had a visit from the High School English class in the morning. Each child was matched with a big buddy and completed a big buddy book. They will return on Thursday to read alongside our students.

- went on a field trip to Howe Sound Secondary and baked "healthy" cookies with the grade 10 students. Photo's posted below!
- finished up our underwater art project. Should be on display by the end of the week or early next week.
- went home at 2:02 for early dismissal.
* Friday March 10th I will be at a training session about behaviours from 9-1. I will be back in the afternoon. A TOC will be here in the morning.
* Monday March 13th I will be at a social justice meeting from 1-3 and we will have a TOC in the afternoon
* We will be making leprechaun traps on Monday morning so please send in any boxes, toilet paper rolls, cereal boxes, etc you may have to contribute to our traps.

- created a self portrait during art. We used pencil and marker to outline and then coloured it in with oil pastels.

- had P.E. - today we decided to try something new. Just Dance two on the projector. It was a huge hit!
- Baby Bodhi came for a Roots of Empathy visit. He is now crawling backwards, standing with support and sitting up almost on his own!

- had an visit from The honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia. We attended a formal assembly and were able to learn a lot about her role to the Queen! Students brought home a ruler.

- completed our kindness notes to our peers and put them in their mail boxes
- had music with Mrs. Mcphee
- welcome our new student Filip to the class
- went to our buddy class to work on reading. We are reading a bit together each day to reach 100 minutes of reading together by Friday (100's Day)
- were invited to a dance party in the gym
- hosted Mrs. Lapointe's class for popcorn and about half of a Charlie Brown movie.

- had a visit from the first nations cultural worker Deanna who told us a traditional scary story and then we worked on beading bracelets which each student took home.

Hello families, I have decided to re start up the website until we can get Fresh Grade sorted out.
Today we:
- Celebrated Chinese New Year. We completed a directed draw on a rooster and discussed the year of the rooster.
- built and decorated Chinese Lanterns
- completed a direct draw of a rooster.
- went to a school wide assembly on February's virtue of the month - Love
- exchanged our library books
- had Saige as the helper
- counted to 100 as a class
- brought our literacy week to a close. We had Vaanya, Caylum and Alexis all win prizes from the library for answering the trivia questions correctly!
- had free choice play time. Some of the children are working with straws and connectors to build boats and cars, others decided to create laterns for their siblings.
*Next week we will
- celebrating Carnaval from Tuesday through Friday. We will participate in a French bingo game each morning, Carnaval dances throughout the week and play a secret school wide game on Friday afternoon where the children have to be detectives.
- have a visit from our First Nations Cultural teacher who will teach us about pony beading.
